The Yids In The Hall is
an all-Jewish comedy showcase featuring the finest Jewish stand-up
comedians from Canada and around the world. The show provides an appreciative
Jewish audience (if there is such a thing) with a fun-filled evening
of Jewish and mainstream humour, culture and entertainment. Although
non-Jews are urged to attend; if only to increase bar sales, from zero.
The Yids
In The Hall features three of Canada’s most popular
and successful stand-up comedians and actors, Lou Eisen, Simon Rakoff
and Steve Brinder. Having achieved major success in their own right
in film, radio and television, they decided to . . . sit a bissel,
because so much achieving is very tiring. They decided to combine their
wealth of experience and talents, to create a delightful evening of
Jewish-themed entertainment for young and old alike.
The Yids
In The Hall have performed sold-out shows throughout Canada and the
United States at various festivals, fundraisers, Jewish theatres and JCC’s.
As
we all know, for a long time now, Jewish humor has been part of mainstream
humor; and, just as other ethnic groups enjoy humorous self-observation, Jews
also enjoy poking fun at their own culture, heritage and history.
The
show itself offers a laugh-filled evening of Jewish and mainstream humor, helping
the audience laugh at the idiosyncrasies and absurdities of their culture,
religion and heritage. |
